The Men's and Women's International Series with Australia is over and the trip has been heralded as a success by both countries
The Men's competition was very closely fought and the series was not decided until the last couple of minutes of the final game. Australia came out the victors with a final 7-5 win giving them a 3 game to 2 win in the series.
The Women's competition was not so closely fought, though a great experience for the NZ team. The series was won 5 games to 0 and the Aussie women were quite dominant. The most disappointing aspect was the lack of goals scored, but a real positive was that no game was lost on mercy.

GNZ to Host International Master's goalball tournament 2008.

Hi there fellow goalball enthusiasts,
The goalball New Zealand International Master's 2008 subcommittee wishes to advise you that New Zealand is hosting a goalball tournament for Masters' players.
The tournament will be held in New Zealand during November 2008. The tournament is open to both male and female players who will be 40 years of age or over on 1 January 2008. If required, one sighted player may play in a team.
We are expecting that players or goalball organisations will select their own teams, but if required we will operate a 'pool system' an allocate players to teams.
Further information will be forthcoming and it would be appreciated if you could pass this invitation on to as many Master's players as possible either directly to the player or to goalball organisations.
Please contact me via goalball@clear.net.nz to indicate your provisional interest in attending this tournament.
