Who Can Play Goalball?Anyone can play Goalball! The game can be played at a slow pace where children can use the game for fun, and healthy competition, being able to play with other blind children or with sighted friend and siblings. Teenagers can play to help them gain confidence, for the sheer fun of throwing a goalball as hard as possible, for improving their orientation and mobility and teaching healthy competition. Adult Men and Women can play in separate or mixed competitions, at varying levels of difficulty and speed from social level through to highly competitive, where speeds of the ball can reach 70 Km/h One of the great things about Goalball is the small number of people that are needed to play the game. Though officially 3 a side is the minimum, the game can be played just as well with 2 a side. Even better is that the game is not restricted to any sight category and sighted players get as much enjoyment out of the game as their fellow blind competitors. ![]()
